How to make garlic paste

If you like cooking with fresh ginger and garlic, having it ready for use at home saves you the time and stress of having to process it from scratch whenever you need to use it.

 

Here are 2 ways you can make fresh garlic paste at home

 

Method 1

  • Peel the garlic cloves.
  • Cut off the stem of the cloves.
  • Transfer the peeled cloves into a blended and spin for 20-25seconds.
  • Put the blended garlic in a container thats air tight; before covering the container, pour equal quantities of healthy oil and lemon juice to cover the paste.
  • Store the paste in the fridge.
  • store in fridge / freezer where there’s constant electricity supply

 

Method 2

  • Use the flat side of a knife to press and crush the garlic cloves ( Be careful with the sharp side of the knife)
  • Remove the covering on the cloves , cut off the stem of the cloves.
  • Using the knife; mince the garlic cloves finely back and forth.
  • Add a pinch of coarse salt (like Kosher salt).
  • Further blend the minced garlic into paste by running the knife to cut through it back and forth until you obtain a paste.
  • Put the blended garlic in a container thats air tight; before covering the container, pour equal quantities of healthy oil and lemon juice to cover the paste.
  • store in fridge / freezer where there’s constant electricity supply.

 

How to make ginger paste

  • Peel the ginger and chop into small pieces
  • Put in a blender with a bit of oil and in the blender until it forms into paste.
  • If ginger does not blend properly, add few drops of water and spin again
  • Transfer paste into an airtight container and store in fridge / freezer where there’s constant electricity supply
