Our smoked catfish is quite dry, but we on request, make it even drier by dehydration for customers if they plan on shipping it outside Nigeria via cargo. This is because with cargo, the goods take way longer than DHL
How long can it keep for?
This depends on how dry the fish is and how well it is stored. Our regular dried smoked catfish can keep for up to a week or 2 outside a fridge or freezer but our well dried dehydrated smoked catfish can keep for 2months or more in transit, so long as it is packed properly and kept away from moisture.

the best way to store smoked dry fish is in the fridge but if you be keeping for a long time, its best stored in the freezer.
When shipping make sure it is well dried/ dehydrated, packed and tightly sealed in nylon bags and kept away from moisture .

Dried Fish absorbs moisture during storage and this can lead quick spoilage or the need to re dry again so for prolonged storage, it is best to wrap up dried fish in layers of paper, transfer into a nylon or freezer bag that’s tightly sealed then store in a refrigerator.
